This is another late Romantic French organ toccata. The Toccata No. 3 features an extended, though still relatively straight-forward form, essentially ABCA'B'C'Coda. Like the two preceding toccatas, this one is full of lush, late Romantic harmonies, and like No. 2, the writing is very much in the late Romantic style. This toccata, though, also makes prominent use of pop harmonies (particularly in the B sections), and has an extended coda where the A and B themes are stated simultaneously (with B in augmentation). This is a big, bold work with a joyous and triumphal conclusion.
